Job Details Position: Travel Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment Location: Harvey, IL Region: South Suburban Chicago / Greater Chicago Area Start Date: September 14, 2026 Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour day shifts (06:45 - 19:15) Hours: 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,470 - $1,550 Patient Ratio: 1:6 Schedule: Every other weekend required; floating required Charting System: Epic Job Requirements Active Illinois RN license in hand Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required BLS and ACLS certification required Strong telemetry nursing experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience with tracheostomy care and management NIHSS preferred Previous experience caring for adult and geriatric patients Ability to work rotating support needs and adapt to unit floating Comfort working in a high-acuity, team-based acute care hospital environment Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to medical/surgical patients Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond appropriately to clinical needs Manage telemetry patients and interpret dysrhythmias as needed Perform and support tracheostomy care and management Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support high-quality patient outcomes Document care accurately in Epic and maintain thorough clinical records Support a patient ratio of 1:6 while maintaining strong time management and prioritization Float as assigned and contribute to team coverage needs Follow unit protocols, safety standards, and best practices in bedside nursing Apply now for this Medical/Surgical travel nurse job in Harvey, Illinois, and join a healthcare team that values strong clinical skills, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
