On behalf of our client, a new craft caf and bakery built around the traditions of fermentation in food and beverage, we are seeking dedicated culinary professionals for their flagship opening in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Job Title: Chef / Prep Cook

Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY Employment Type: Full-Time (23 openings) Pay Rate: $20.00 $30.00 / hour (commensurate with experience and role)

• Prep Cook: $20.00 $24.00 / hour
• Line Cook / Chef: $24.00 $30.00 / hour

Shift Schedule:

• 7:00 AM 4:00 PM

About the Role:

You will handle preparation and cooking across our client's daily food menu, working with organic, high-quality ingredients to deliver dishes of consistent quality. This is a role for someone with solid fundamentals, genuine respect for good ingredients, and the curiosity to keep refining their craft.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prep: Cutting vegetables, preparing sauces and dressings, and handling preliminary ingredient processing
• Cooking: Executing recipes accurately, with standardized cooking and seasoning
• Knife Work: Using efficient knife techniques to maximize yield and minimize waste
• Menu Consistency: Maintaining consistent plating based on recipe cards and photo guides
• Ingredient Management: Checking freshness and practicing strict FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation
• Inventory & Ordering: Tracking stock levels and contributing to reorder proposals
• Food Safety & Sanitation: Keeping temperature logs, managing allergens, and sanitizing tools and workstations
• Peak-Hour Line Support: Balancing speed and quality during busy periods

Qualifications & Experience:

• 12+ years of hands-on kitchen experience (Prep Cook, Line Cook, or Chef)
• Solid fundamental cooking and knife skills
• Ability to work a consistent morning-to-afternoon schedule (7:00 AM 4:00 PM)
• NYC Food Protection Certificate preferred
• Experience with organic, artisanal, or seasonal produce a plus
