Sales Clerk PT 6836 Part Time (20‑29 hours per week), Portsmouth Exchange, Portsmouth, VA, US Salary: $15.00 per hour Responsibilities Welcome customers and maintain product knowledge. Assist customers with merchandise selection and provide exceptional service. Operate cash registers, accept various payment methods, and give accurate change. Maintain sales records and reconcile transactions at shift end. Perform periodic stock counts and help with inventory. Replenish stock, keep displays neat and presentable, update pricing and promotional signage. Follow loss prevention policies and be vigilant against shrink. Adhere to safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements. Work weekends as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Ability to read, comprehend, and explain product literature; perform basic arithmetic for stocking and inventory; demonstrated by high school coursework, GED, or diploma. Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds; stand for long periods. Preferred Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience.
