The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic purchasing and procurement processes and procedures for project-direct buyouts, company-wide commodity purchasing, rebate programs, tool procurement, hardware procurement, rental equipment management, and vendor partnerships.The Purchasing Manager will lead the purchasing team and procurement workflows to ensure materials, equipment, and services are acquired efficiently and timely according to project schedules. This role will work closely with Division Vice Presidents/Division Managers, Project Managers, Operations Managers, Accounting, Logistics Managers, Logistics Coordinators, and Field Leadership to optimize costs, improve vendor relationship, standardize procurement processes, and maximize purchasing leverage company-wide.Preferred Job SkillsAbility to maintain required levels of confidentiality when entrusted with sensitive business, customer, or employee related information.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated experience managing large-scale reporting.Project Procurement SupportSupport project teams with material procurement planning and buyout.Assist with identifying long-lead equipment and critical path.Monitor procurement schedules to align with project timelines.Maintain project procurement logs and material status.Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure timely deliveries and minimize project delays.Support tracking of owner-furnished and contractor-furnished materials.Commodity Purchasing ProgramsDevelop and manage company-wide commodity purchasing.Consolidate purchases to maximize volume.Negotiate pricing agreements with electrical distributors and suppliers.Monitor market conditions, material pricing trends, and supply chain disruptions.Create standardized purchasing agreements for repetitive products and services.Vendor & Manufacturer RelationsDevelop strategic relationships with manufacturers, distributors, rental vendors, and service providers.Lead annual pricing negotiations and purchasing agreements.Coordinate vendor performance reviews and address any issues.Resolve supplier disputes and delivery issues.Evaluate and onboard new vendors.Represent Ace Electric at vendor meetings, industry events, and rebate programs.Rebate Program ManagementManage manufacturer rebate and incentive programs.Administer tool rebate programs and equipment incentive programs.Manage hardware rebate and purchasing incentive programs.Track rebates earned and ensure proper collection and reporting.Identify new opportunities to increase purchasing returns and supplier incentives.Logistics & Inventory CoordinationOversee material logistics and delivery.Support warehouse operations and material distribution.Monitor material receipts and delivery.Coordinate freight program and delivery schedules.Support equipment transportation and logistics.Improve material tracking processes from purchase through delivery.Purchase Order ManagementEstablish and maintain company purchasing policies and procedures.Oversee Purchase Order (PO) creation, implementation, tracking, and management.Ensure proper authorization workflows are established and followed.Monitor committed costs against budget and forecast.Ensure purchasing activities comply with company financial policies and controls.Invoice & Receipt ReconciliationSupport the procurement team in verifying invoicing versus received goods and services.Coordinate with Accounting to resolve any discrepancies.Ensure accurate receiving documentation is maintained.Monitor open commitments and unmatched invoices.Improve procurement visibility through reporting and system integration.Equipment & Rental ManagementManage company rental equipment procurement.Negotiate rental agreements and master service contracts.Monitor equipment utilization and rental costs.Develop strategies to reduce unnecessary rental expenses.Coordinate equipment allocations across divisions.Technology & Systems UtilizationMaintain procurement records, reports, dashboards, and databases.Drive adoption of purchasing and logistics technology.Develop procurement workflows utilizing Microsoft solutions and business intelligence tools.Leverage search tools, vendor databases, and market intelligence platforms to support procurement activities.Position RequirementsLicense: Valid state driver's license as required by job conditions or by the company.Certification: NoneEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.Experience: Minimum 5 years of strategic purchasing experience in the electrical construction industry.
