Mechanical Engineer III

Responsible for the structural design and reliability of refrigerated display cases Prepare design specifications, analyses, and recommendations for presentation and approval Plan, organize, and conduct technical projects or project phases involving design and development Coordinate designs through cross-functional approval and change implementation from concept to production Coordinate drafters/designers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel as required Design or redesign products to develop new products, improve performance, and reduce costs while meeting UL, NSF, and DOE requirements Design products for manufacturability, assembly, and reliability Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material Perform testing and structural analysis of refrigerated cases Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering At least 5 years’ related experience Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology Solid knowledge of structural design and testing Knowledge of design and testing for reliability Microsoft Office suite Basic working knowledge of CAD software Basic working experience with structural analysis software Basic working knowledge of the SAP environment is a plus Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models Experience in the HVAC&R industry is desirable Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills Sense of ownership and urgency with projects and work assignments Design management experience reviewing models, drawings, and Bills of Material is a plus Experience working with sheet metal parts and plastics is a plus Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in structural design and reliability of refrigerated display cases, with a strong focus on design specifications, testing, and compliance with UL, NSF, and DOE standards.
