Senior Product Engineer

Job Overview Senior Electronics Product Engineer – Military Aircraft Group, East Aurora, NY (Onsite, 1st‑shift). Reports to the Electronics Product Engineering Manager. The role supports complex aircraft electronics programs across the full product life cycle, from new product introduction through mature production, working on mission‑critical systems for military aircraft. Responsibilities Provide hands‑on engineering support to assigned product lines. Resolve production and test issues and maintain product integrity, quality and on‑time delivery. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability. Collaborate with Assembly and Test teams and provide technical guidance. Act as a technical or project leader on special projects when required. Monitor first‑pass yield (FPY), handle non‑conformances, perform Material Review Board (MRB) analyses and assist in evaluation for possible notices to customers. Identify producibility and quality improvements in product design, initiate changes and plan for schedule impacts. Facilitate design changes via redlining drawings, attend Change Review Board (CRB) meetings and start the Engineering Change Notification (ECN) process. Establish tasks and schedules for product engineering on team‑based projects. Prepare production assembly and test instructions: Work Instructions, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP/PAT), engineering memos and Electronic Historical Record (EHR) entries. Provide timely information to all affected operating groups regarding potential issues with quality, schedule and cost. Track key company metrics, including FPY and product‑cost objectives, to maintain and improve performance. Coordinate and interface with internal and external customers and suppliers to maintain design integrity, producibility and quality. Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCSA) analyses and projects to achieve long‑term solutions. Serve as the customer/vendor contact for all technical questions. Maintain close contact with Moog Program Management to prevent surprises during customer interactions. Travel 10‑15% of the year to customers, contract manufacturers and suppliers on short notice. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline (e.g., aerospace, biomedical, robotics, mechatronics, electromechanical). Minimum five years of relevant experience in electronics or a related field. Strong electronics knowledge from product level down to circuit and component levels – circuit analysis and troubleshooting. Knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) assembly processes. Experience with electronics test and measurement equipment. Self‑starting instincts, solid analytical skills and a strong sense of ownership of responsible products. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate at all levels of an organization, including technicians, customers, and suppliers. Authorized to work with U.S. export‑controlled information. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the aerospace or other regulated industry. Knowledge of Root Cause / Corrective Action, LEAN, project planning, product line transfer, and data acquisition & analysis.
