Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Provides occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Delivers patient-centered treatment interventions to support patients in achieving optimal independence, function, and quality of life.Job ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with the supervising Occupational Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, abilities, and preferences.Provides skilled occupational therapy interventions utilizing appropriate therapeutic techniques and activities.Monitors and communicates patient progress, changes in physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status, and environmental factors to assist with treatment modifications and discharge planning.Educates patients and families/caregivers on home exercise programs, safety recommendations, and strategies to support continued progress after discharge.Maintains effective communication with physicians, rehabilitation team members, patients, and families to ensure coordinated care.Documentation & ProductivityCompletes accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation in accordance with department policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.Maintains accurate billing, productivity records, treatment notes, patient education documentation, and discharge recommendations.Manages daily schedule to achieve departmental productivity expectations while ensuring high-quality patient care.Professional ResponsibilitiesParticipates in staff meetings, education opportunities, and mandatory training.Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to patient rights, safety practices, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies.Demonstrates professionalism, compassion, respect, and exceptional customer service toward patients, families, physicians, and team members.Supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.Current licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Florida.Current hands-on Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and clinical skills.Ability to maintain professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice. #J-18808-Ljbffr
