Location: Louisville, Kentucky 40219 Service Area: Central and Eastern Kentucky Job Overview We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Call Center / Dental Assistant to join our mobile dentistry team serving central and eastern Kentucky. This is a dual-role position with both call center and dental assisting responsibilities. Employees in this position will be assigned to call center duties and dental assisting duties on different days of the workweek based on company needs, patient volume, and scheduled mobile dental events. Flexibility is essential, as the employee may be assigned to either function throughout the workweek. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a strong understanding of patient care, and the ability to transition effectively between administrative and clinical responsibilities. Call Center Responsibilities When assigned to call center duties, responsibilities will include: Answer incoming phone calls promptly, professionally, and courteously. Schedule patient appointments for mobile dentistry services. Schedule appointments appropriately based on individual treatment plans and provider recommendations. Confirm patient eligibility and collect or verify required patient information as directed. Make outbound calls to patients regarding scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up. Send text reminders to patients regarding upcoming appointments. Follow established scheduling protocols and accurately document patient communication. Maintain accurate and timely records in the company’s scheduling and communication systems. Communicate appointment changes, cancellations, and scheduling concerns to the appropriate team members. Assist with maintaining adequate patient volume for scheduled mobile dental events. Provide excellent customer service and respond appropriately to patient questions and concerns. Protect patient privacy and maintain strict compliance with HIPAA requirements. Communicate effectively with dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff. When assigned to dental assisting duties, responsibilities will include: Travel with mobile dental vans to scheduled locations throughout central and eastern Kentucky. Prepare the mobile dental treatment area before patient care begins. Assist the dentist and/or hygienist during dental procedures as directed. Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment supplies. Pass instruments and materials to the dentist or hygienist during procedures. Assist with patient preparation and positioning. Take and/or process dental radiographs when trained, authorized, and permitted by applicable regulations. Maintain appropriate infection control and sterilization procedures. Clean, disinfect, and properly maintain treatment areas and dental equipment between patients. Properly handle and dispose of contaminated materials, sharps, and regulated waste. Monitor dental supplies and communicate stocking needs to the appropriate team member. Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked mobile dental unit. Follow all company safety procedures and established clinical protocols. Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, infection control, OSHA, and applicable dental regulations. Provide professional, compassionate, and respectful patient care. Assist the mobile dental team with efficient patient flow and daily operational needs. Complete required documentation and clinical support tasks accurately and timely. Position Requirements Because this position combines administrative and clinical responsibilities, the employee must be willing and able to perform both call center and dental assisting functions as assigned. Qualifications & Skills General Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills and professional telephone etiquette. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and other team members. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Positive, team-oriented attitude. Ability to work independently while following established company procedures. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Willingness and ability to travel regularly with mobile dental vans throughout central and eastern Kentucky. Ability to work different duties and schedules based on company needs. Call Center Skills Ability to learn and accurately apply scheduling protocols based on treatment plans. Strong telephone communication and customer service abilities. Comfortable making outbound calls and communicating with patients by text. Ability to accurately enter and maintain patient and appointment information. Comfortable learning and using electronic scheduling, communication, and patient management systems. Ability to handle patient questions and concerns professionally and appropriately. Dental assisting education or certification preferred where applicable. Knowledge of basic dental terminology, instruments, and procedures. Knowledge of dental infection control and sterilization procedures. Ability to assist dentists and hygienists during routine dental procedures. Familiarity with dental radiographs preferred. Ability to prepare and maintain dental treatment areas. Ability to properly clean, disinfect, sterilize, and store dental instruments and equipment. Ability to follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and company safety procedures. Willingness to complete additional training required for mobile dental operations. Physical & Travel Requirements This position requires regular travel with mobile dental vans throughout central and eastern Kentucky. The employee must be able to: Travel to various community and event locations. Work inside a mobile dental unit for extended periods. Stand, sit, bend, reach, and move throughout the mobile dental unit as required. Assist with setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the mobile dental treatment area. Safely handle dental instruments, equipment, and supplies. Perform duties in a mobile clinical environment that may require flexibility and adaptability. Must have valid driver's license with clean driving history. No experience necessary. This position involves working in both a call center/administrative environment and a mobile dental clinical environment . When assigned to call center duties, the employee will focus primarily on patient communication, scheduling, appointment management, and administrative support. When assigned to dental assisting duties, the employee will travel with the mobile dental team and provide clinical support to dentists and hygienists during patient care. The employee will be expected to perform both functions during the workweek as assigned by company management based on operational and patient care needs.
