Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity is for a Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations in an inpatient hospital setting. The position offers a Monday through Friday day shift from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm for a 13-week duration. Located in West Plains, MO, the role involves managing a pharmacy team consisting of 4.5 pharmacists and 6 pharmacy technicians, supporting specialty areas such as OB (excluding NICU/high-risk pregnancy), orthopedics, pediatrics (excluding PICU), oncology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, adult behavioral health, endocrinology, podiatry, general surgery, rheumatology, and wound care services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Serving as the Director of Pharmacy with accountability for overall department leadership
• Creating and managing schedules for pharmacy staff and technicians
• Collaborating with the Buyer to resolve medication supply chain challenges
• Leading the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee: setting agendas, conducting meetings, and implementing initiatives
• Participating in medical staff and COPD readmissions reduction committee meetings
• Conducting monthly department meetings and daily weekday huddles
• Ordering controlled substances twice weekly and managing Pyxis access and payroll functions
• Providing resource support for pharmacy staff questions and concerns, without an office on-call requirement
• Completing two weeks of onsite training prior to maternity leave coverage

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Active Missouri pharmacist license
• Previous Pharmacist in Charge or Director of Pharmacy experience
• Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Proficiency with sterile compounding procedures
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse for order entry preferred
