As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost‑effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating agreements, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting agreement recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business. The Public Affairs team is responsible for building Google's reputation and presence among key decision‑makers and in the markets where we operate. We create strategic, scalable solutions that deliver authentic impact. As the Public Affairs Manager, you will be on the front lines of this effort, acting as a strategic advisor who shapes our data center initiatives to align with local and state priorities. You will be a leader, identifying and maximizing partnership opportunities with local institutions to effectively tell the story of Google's commitment and long‑term investment. The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $177,000‑$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Build and maintain critical relationships with government officials, community leaders, and key opinion formers to secure a positive, sustainable, and collaborative operating environment for our facilities. Develop, lead, and execute complex, multi‑state public affairs strategies and campaigns that proactively safeguard the data center lifecycle across both existing and future markets. Serve as a key ambassador and advocate for Google’s priorities, amplifying our economic, energy, sustainability, and social contributions to position our presence as a local team for growth and innovation. Partner closely with a broad range of internal teams and external stakeholders to drive data center market development projects seamlessly from concept to completion. Translate corporate and technical initiatives into tangible, highly visible local benefits that align with and support community priorities.
