About the Position

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred License: AK RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP Must-Have: Charge experience preferred or willing to train as charge Description: L&D RN license pending is acceptable. Must be able to complete RN license application within 48 hours of signing. Must have RN license in hand for auto offer. Assignment length is 13 weeks. Shift is most likely a straight night position. If clinician is needed to cover both nights and days, schedule will flip every 4 weeks. First timers accepted. Guaranteed hours are 60 hours per 2 weeks. Traveler can be called off for 1, 12-hour shift every 2 weeks. Unit is a high-risk labor and delivery unit. Average daily deliveries are around 7 but can be as many as 14 patients with inductions and high-risk antepartum. Unit averages 4-5 third trimester testing patients along with an influx of triage patients each day. Facility is a Magnet designated facility and Level II trauma. Unit staff typically includes interdisciplinary support teams. Special procedures include cervical cerclage, cesarean, and D&C. Travelers must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Facility only accepts specific vaccine documentation. References are required. Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby facilities if needed. Housing options in the area may be limited. Modules are required and average 16 hours spent. Time spent on modules is self-reported and completion is recorded.
