The Retail Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing daily store operations for a large retail location. This position involves managing a medium-sized team of 10-25 staff, ensuring high standards in customer service, inventory control, and sales performance. Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management software is essential, along with the ability to handle occasional travel. The role offers growth opportunities including lateral moves within retail and participation in management training programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory accuracy and timely replenishment
- Supervise and support a medium team of 10-25 staff members
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues efficiently
- Monitor and analyze sales data to meet targets
- Implement effective visual merchandising strategies
- Handle cash transactions and ensure accuracy
- Oversee daily store operations and maintenance
- Provide staff training and foster employee development
- Prepare regular operational and sales reports
- Implement loss prevention and security measures
- Create and manage staff schedules
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail management
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong skills in retail management and customer relationship management
- Proficiency in sales analysis and inventory control
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Experience with cash handling and visual merchandising
- Effective problem-solving and communication abilities
- Excellent time management skills
