Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Essential Functions The co-op or intern supports operations by working with the Engineering team tolearn through: Directionfromdepartment leadership and engineerstocomplete tasks for multiple projects. Assistingtojustify, design, build,test,install, andoperateautomated manufacturing systems. Designinganddetailing ofitems within a project with theuseof 2-D CAD and/or 3-D CAD software. Writingand editingrobotic or PLC programs needed to produce parts for the project or customer. Identifyandeliminatesafety and quality risks and root causes. Utilizingtime studies or pre-determined timing methods such as MTM or MOST tovalidatesetup and run times. Assistingwith lean manufacturing initiatives and product flow improvements. Evaluatinghistorical data on run rates todetermineaccuracy. Assistingin creation and evaluation of cost reductions. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities: High school diploma or equivalent required.Must beenrolled ina Mechanical,Electrical,Robotics/Automation, Industrial, or ManufacturingEngineeringprogram at atwo or four yearcollege or university, progressing toward a degree. Experience and Skills Required: Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and cause prevention (error proofing) skills. Ability to work independently and show strong initiative and ownership of ideas and projects. Strong computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. Priormanufacturing, especially fabrication and welding, experience is beneficial. The qualifications listed above are guidelines. There is also moderate exposure to Video Data Terminals (VDTs) and moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds). Compensation Salary Range: OTC4 $18.67 - $26.12 per hour. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
