Project Engineer - Building GroupLocation: Santa Teresa, NM, US Abilene, TX, US El Paso, TX, US Las Cruces, NM, US Requisition ID: 177731 Job Level: Senior Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Building Group Department: Project Engineering Market: Building Employment Type: Full TimePosition Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineers to oversee and support multiple Industrial building projects from planning through execution. This role requires a strong understanding of subcontractor management, and field operations, as well as experience with review of contract plans and specifications, project scheduling, cost forecasting, and team leadership.Responsibilities: Perform contract compliance, quality control & field oversight of subcontractors on the project. Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications. Inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures. Take corrective actions as needed to resolve field issues. Review subordinates' work for compliance with contract documents; address deficiencies and implement corrective measures. Project scheduling & coordination. Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software. Collaborate with project management personnel to gather input and ensure schedule accuracy. Document control & change management, handle project closeout. Manage document control processes including logging and tracking new issue drawings and contract documents. Review new issue drawings for changes in conditions; quantify impacts and communicate with supervisor. Distribute updated documents to field teams and ensure proper implementation. Cost forecasting & financial planning. Prepare monthly cost projections using data from project management systems. Develop quarterly cash flow projections to support financial planning. Operational improvement & leadership. Recommend improvements to project operations including staffing, methods, and procedures. Serve as managing project engineer/coordinator across multiple projects. Provide supervision and on-the-job training for junior engineers and project staff.Qualifications: Ability to travel and relocate as needed. Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent required. 5+ years' work experience in construction or engineering, vertical construction is preferred. 2+ years' experience managing engineers and project subcontractors. Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents. Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
