Maintain and secure the battery-charging area, batteries and other equipment contained therein.Review any equipment reports submitted by the maintenance supervisor, record actions/repairs taken, and maintains work orders on assigned tablets. Interpret data and suggest maintenance schedule/activity adjustments to the Manager.Ensure all preventative and predictive maintenance practices and procedures are followed.Perform emergency repairs. General cleanup of work areas. Perform PM's (preventative maintenance) on equipment, and maintain PM log with proper documentationComply with all OSHA guidelines regarding safety when working on equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding and required documentation, safe work environment, etc.). Follows all safety policies and procedures.Responsible for company tools and maintenance equipment used in performance of job duties, including inventory maintenance, safe operation, proper storage, and security of tool area.Diagnose mechanical problems using charts, diagnostic software, technical manuals and expertise.Perform repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment and light trucks to maximize safe and productive operations.Repair or replace parts, such as pistons, rods, gearboxes, valves, sprockets and bearings, using mechanic's hand tools. Replace conveyor belts, electrical motors, hydraulic cylinders and other mechanical parts.Read and interpret drawings and repair orders, communicate with supervisor and/or equipment operators for clarification of problems. May discuss preventive techniques with equipment operators.May repair and install plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.Able to work all shifts all days.Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.QualificationsStrong organizational skills.Ability to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere.High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Also is exposed to dust, heat and cold, noise levels vary from moderate to loud.The pay range reflects the potential base salary range for this role. Individual base pay is determined by various factors such as relevant experience and skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position.
