Project Manager III - HVAC Automation Controls

Job Summary We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems. This position involves planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling all contract functions between Mesa Energy Systems and our client. It is responsible for daily operations and maintenance, reimbursable projects under the contract, overseeing the contract budget, supervising project personnel, new construction and remodeling, repair and maintenance, and systematic inspection and planning to accomplish repairs to facilities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepares quarterly financial forecasts and monthly updates, ensuring the contract meets all contractual requirements and financial goals. Leads a team of technical employees, maintaining a strong, trained, and disciplined workforce. Manages overall operations of the contract, including daily operations, scheduled maintenance, and administration of subcontracts for facilities work. Evaluates and ensures efficient operation of the project, controlling operational expenses at a minimum level consistent with sound maintenance practices and contractual requirements. Provides administrative and technical direction and supervision to staff in completing work assignments. Plans and delegates major project assignments to supervisory staff, determining building priorities of significant scope. Ensures proper upkeep of facilities, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitation, general appearance, and emergency situations. Coordinates purchase of necessary supplies, equipment and services, maintaining inventory control and consumable supplies. Maintains liaison with architects, engineers and contractors/subcontractors engaged in plant expansion, renovation, or other major projects. Maintains sufficient records, files, controls, and procedures to insure management and work production. Develops training sessions for employees who require them. Maintains a strong safety program. Plans, organizes, coordinates, directs, and controls all aspects of physical plant activities. Works with customers to find mutually satisfactory solutions to difficult issues. Works with management systems and a variety of skilled/unskilled, professional, administrative, and industry personnel. Possesses basic knowledge of office administration, plant management, reporting, budgeting and control, business operations, blueprints, buildings, grounds, equipment, housekeeping, construction, repair, maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, fire and safety management. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction discipline. 6+ years of demonstrated experience managing HVAC projects. Experience submitting written proposals, scopes of work, scheduling and coordinating site contractors and other assigned personnel, with a thorough understanding of preventive maintenance schedules and operations. Strong experience with Windows and Microsoft Office. Demonstrated skill at developing and nurturing client relationships. Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. Skilled in organizing and leading groups of people. Capable of working independently or as part of a team and adapting to changing priorities. Ability to walk throughout a large facility, including climbing stairs and walking on catwalks.
