Special Activities Project Manager

SMX is seeking a Project Manager to join the integrated program management office (PMO) in a leadership position supporting SOCPAC logistics projects, and will serve as a liaison with government points of contact. The ideal candidate will assist the program leadership team with administrative oversight, operations coordination, and collaborate with multiple commercial vendors to achieve the overall mission objectives.This position requires a DoD TS/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesConduct financial oversight and execution of contracting functions for all project requirements; creating cost estimates, developing statements of work, providing market research, submit contract deliverablesReports operational effort statuses, develops program/project-related documentation, implements lessons learned, and updates and maintains production and quality metrics for assigned projectsSupports operational planning, execution, and evaluation of a multi-faceted program that requires collaboration with customersEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships with the government’s program managersManages daily communication, deliverable tracking, and financial reporting status with multiple subcontractors for assigned projectFacilitate cross-functional collaboration within a Theater Special Operations CommandRequired Skills & ExperienceRequired clearance: Active Top Secret/SCIDemonstrable success in government contracting (DoD preferred) through prior work experience in a customer-facing role10+ years’ experience in PACOM AOR with Special OperationsExperience writing Statements of WorkExperience working with subcontractors and/or vendors to facilitate requirementsKnowledge of process improvement techniques and ability to direct improvement initiativesExperience interacting with and briefing senior government on topics related to programmatic, and financial statusExperience supporting large contracts leading complex development, production, fielding of platforms, and/or support initiatives with technical objectivesExperience with the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) in a Program Management or Technical Leadership roleKnowledge of different government funding and authority types5+ years of working with 3X and/or 4X directoratesAbility to travel (no more than 5%) – Active Passport through 2028Desired Skills & ExperienceBachelor’s degree Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline10+ years of management/supervision experience in SOCOM3+ years of government financial experienceExperience with the Joint Forces in a Program Management or Technical Leadership Role#CJPOST The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
