If you enjoy troubleshooting industrial electrical equipment, solving technical problems, and providing exceptional customer support while working with innovative technologies, we want you on our team.As an Industrial Electrical Technician I - Field Services, you will support AWC's growing electrical support services by performing field service, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, startup assistance, and repair of industrial electrical equipment while also supporting the assembly, testing, and repair of electrical equipment in our shop.Working alongside our Sales, Engineering, and Project teams, you will help deliver high-quality electrical solutions while providing exceptional customer support. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills both in the field and in a hands-on shop environment supporting industrial customers throughout the region.This position is primarily based in our electrical shop with occasional travel to customer facilities throughout Louisiana and surrounding areas.How You'll Make an ImpactPerform field service activities including equipment inspections, troubleshooting, startup assistance, and repair of industrial electrical equipmentDiagnose, repair, and test variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starters, enclosed motor starters, and other industrial electrical equipment in the field or within AWC's shopCoordinate with customers to evaluate equipment issues and recommend practical repair or replacement solutionsSupport equipment startup, commissioning, and operational testingAssemble industrial electrical control panels and equipment from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and AutoCAD electrical drawingsBuild and wire enclosed motor starters, VFD panels, junction boxes, operator stations, and other industrial electrical assembliesPerform quality inspections and functional testing of completed assemblies prior to shipmentRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and customer documentationCoordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Account Managers to support customer projects and service activitiesAssist with shop operations including material staging, inventory organization, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and supporting the efficient flow of materials and equipment through the shopMaintain accurate documentation of service work, inspections, repairs, and completed assembliesSupport continuous improvement initiatives that improve shop efficiency, quality, and customer responsivenessRepresent AWC professionally while building trusted relationships with customers, vendors, and teammatesEquipment & Systems You'll SupportVariable Frequency Drives (VFDs)Soft StartersEnclosed Motor StartersIndustrial Control PanelsMotor Control Centers (MCCs)Low-Voltage SwitchgearJunction BoxesOperator StationsIndustrial Electrical Distribution EquipmentSkills You'll NeedSelf-starter with a strong work ethic and positive attitudeStrong electrical and mechanical aptitudeAbility to troubleshoot industrial electrical equipmentAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentationStrong organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer serviceComfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCustomer-focused with a sense of urgency and accountabilityComfortable working in industrial environments and traveling to customer sites as neededProficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer skillsHere's What Will Set You ApartTechnical degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related technical field preferredExperience troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor starters, or industrial electrical equipmentExperience assembling industrial electrical control panels or motor control equipmentFamiliarity with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, ABB, Schneider Electric, Eaton, or similar industrial electrical productsAbility to read AutoCAD electrical drawings and electrical schematicsExperience using electrical diagnostic and testing equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters, and other electrical test instrumentsUnderstanding of industrial motor control circuits and electrical safety practicesForklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment is a plusWillingness to continue learning new technologies and expand technical capabilitiesThe RewardsEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)401(K) MatchCompetitive PayMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance PackageLife InsurancePaid Time Off and Holiday PayCareer Development OpportunitiesAbout AWCAs employee-owners, we seek to develop fulfilling careers by pushing ourselves to deliver better, safer, and more effective automation and electrical solutions.
