Mental Health Technician

**Job Summary and Responsibilities** As our Mental Health Tech, you will be a vital support for Behavioral Health's front and back office functions, assisting psychiatrists, patients, and the care management team. You'll ensure smooth operations, quality medication management, and clinical problem-solving. Every day, you will provide basic medication triage, support services, and take vital signs for behavioral health patients. You'll manage front office reception, patient registration, insurance/copay processing, and telephones, while also handling back office tasks like refill requests, injections, and accurate EHR documentation. To be successful, you need strong multitasking, meticulous attention to detail, and a rapid ability to learn complex information accurately. Exceptional customer service, calm under pressure, EHR proficiency, and strict confidentiality are essential, along with flexibility to float. Responsibilities: + Assist with patient/family care needs from admission to discharge. + Monitor patient on Q15 min. observations including (Q5, LOS, and 1:1 obs.) + Accurately monitor and record patient VS, intake, and output, and daily activities, including patio breaks. + Assist Nurses with patient care to include Groups, Activities of daily living, as needed + Must be able to effectively communicate with patients in crises and assist RNs with restraining patients + Assist in maintaining adequate stocks and supplies. **Job Requirements** Required + High School Graduate or GED + Minimum of one (1) year mental healthworker experience working with psychiatric patients either in an inpatient or residential setting + AHA Basic Life Support - CPR + Fire Safety, within 90 Days Preferred + Minimum 1 year of acute patient care experience + Certified Nursing Assistant: CA + Emergency Medical Technician: CA Where You'll Work Founded in 1955, Dignity Health - Northridge Hospital Medical Center is a 394-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located.
