We're partnering with an established industry leader in renewable fuels and specialty chemical manufacturing seeking an experienced Plant Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at a large-scale continuous process manufacturing facility.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience within a continuous manufacturing environment such as:
• Renewable Fuels
• Ethanol Production
• Chemical Manufacturing
• Petrochemical
• Food & Beverage Processing
• Pulp & Paper
• Industrial Manufacturing
• Heavy Process Manufacturing
• Similar industrial processing facilities
• Demonstrated experience leading maintenance technicians, planners, contractors, and cross-functional maintenance teams.
• Proven success improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and increasing operational efficiency.

Strong working knowledge of:

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.

As the Plant Maintenance Manager, you'll lead all maintenance operations for a sophisticated industrial processing facility while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Environmental, and Plant Leadership.

You'll be responsible for developing maintenance strategy, maximizing equipment availability, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting capital improvements, and building a culture centered around safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This role offers the opportunity to influence nearly every aspect of plant performance—from equipment reliability and maintenance planning to employee development and long-term operational strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a skilled maintenance organization.
• Establish daily priorities while balancing planned, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Build a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
• Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, succession planning, and employee development.

Develop and lead maintenance strategies that maximize equipment uptime and plant reliability through:

• Preventive Maintenance (PM)
• Predictive Maintenance (PdM)
• Mechanical Integrity Programs
• Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM)
• Vibration Analysis
• Infrared Thermography
• Lubrication Programs
• Failure Analysis
• Root Cause Analysis
• Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Drive measurable improvements in:

• Equipment Availability
• Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF)
• Maintenance Costs
• Plant Reliability
• Production Efficiency

Ensure maintenance operations comply with:

• OSHA regulations
• Process Safety Management (PSM)
• Mechanical Integrity (MI)
• Environmental regulations
• cGMP requirements
• Feed and Food Safety standards
• Company safety policies and procedures

Lead maintenance audits while identifying opportunities to improve safety, compliance, and operational performance.

Own the facility's maintenance planning process by:

• Managing preventive maintenance schedules
• Prioritizing work orders
• Maintaining accurate maintenance documentation
• Tracking maintenance KPIs
• Managing spare parts inventory
• Developing maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Optimizing labor utilization and maintenance resources

Partner with Engineering and Operations to:

• Plan and execute plant outages and shutdowns
• Support capital improvement projects
• Coordinate engineering consultants and contractors
• Manage vendor performance
• Support construction activities
• Lead equipment installation, startup, and commissioning
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget

Manage all aspects of maintenance operations including:

• Annual maintenance budget
• Inventory optimization
• Contractor management
• Vendor relationships
• Procurement planning
• Cost reduction initiatives
• Long-term asset planning
