Dispatcher - Port Allen

Evaluation Hire

26/hr.+ Depending on Experience

Day Shift 7 am - 4 pm

We are currently seeking a reliable and highly organized Dispatcher to join our team in Port Allen, Louisiana. The Dispatcher will play a crucial role in the dispatch of our fleet of tanker trucks and drivers. This position requires someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, make accurate split-second decisions, and ensure all customer loads are covered safely, efficiently, and on time.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in tanker and hazardous materials transportation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule drivers, routes, and deliveries to meet operational demands
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams
• Monitor vehicle locations and delivery progress to ensure on-time performance
• Maintain accurate dispatch logs, reports, and documentation
• Respond quickly to schedule changes, delays, or emergencies
• Provide drivers with route information, job details, and instructions
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations
• Assist with problem-solving and conflict resolution as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous dispatching, logistics, or transportation experience preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with computers, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of local routes in and around Port Allen/Baton Rouge area is a plus
