Perioperative Services Clinical Manager

Job Responsibilities Track all relevant surgical metrics, including but not limited to on‑time starts, total case times, and surgery quantity. Create plans and processes for continual improvement of all surgical activities. Assess all administrative and practice processes and generate ideas and solutions for improvement continually. Work independently and/or engage other management in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures as needed. Advise practice about current trends, problems, and medical activities to facilitate policy making. Review existing protocols, policies, and procedures annually and make needed updates. Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies; continually monitor operations, programs, and physical properties and initiate appropriate changes in line with OSHA and universal precautions. Communicate appropriate information effectively, timely, and professionally with all employees at all levels. Participate in management meetings led by the Leadership Team and contribute effectively to areas of direct responsibility. Coordinate with human resources for recruiting needs, conduct interviews, make selections, and coordinate hiring of new personnel. Oversee the business and financial affairs of the surgical unit and manage fiscal matters in conjunction with the revenue cycle team. Enhance operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing innovation or quality of care. Monitor and manage supply usage and ordering to ensure optimal practices are established. Manage employees reporting directly to the position, providing leadership, motivation, development, and discipline to promote quality performance and achievement of financial and quality objectives. Create and implement performance improvement action plans for employees who need additional training in compliance with management philosophy. Resolve medical‑administrative problems and maintain open lines of communication with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful practice atmosphere. Monitor overtime and time‑off requests to achieve financial goals and minimize excess and waste. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred. Computer experience and medical terminology preferred. Skills Maintains a high degree of accuracy in carrying out work duties.
