NICU Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant PART-TIME

The Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital Level IIIC NICU at Hackensack University Medical Center Neonatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. Part-Time (20 hrs/wee k) position APNs must have NNP cert. PA's must have either NICU fellowship or prior Neonatal experience. Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) operates a 48-bed, state-designated Regional Perinatal Center at Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital in Hackensack, NJ. The unit offers specialized services including whole-body cooling, high-frequency ventilation, and is the first in New Jersey to earn Disease-Specific Care certification in prematurity care. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program. Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice. Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate). National Provider Identifier (NPI). Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law. Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Not Applicable.
