Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active North Carolina or Compact license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS or Stroke Certification Must-Have: Weekend availability is required. Candidate must pass EKG/Telemetry exam onsite. Flu vaccines are required with no exemptions accepted. Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse with experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry settings. The candidate should have a background in managing patients with various medical conditions. They will be expected to provide care to adult and geriatric populations. Candidates must have experience with telemetry monitoring and patient ratio of 1:6. Skills in accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and continuous bladder irrigation are important. The nurse should have knowledge of managing dysrhythmias and understanding the interpretation of arterial blood gases. Bariatric surgery post-operative care and IV management are essential components of this role. Candidates should be comfortable with telemetry, including both on-unit and remote monitoring. All emergency responses, including rapid response and code teams, are integral to the job. The nurse will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support, enhancing patient care and recovery. Daily patient census is approximately 30, in a unit with 39 beds. This role encompasses a wide array of diagnoses including myocardial infarction, renal failure, and orthopedic surgeries. The nurse must provide compassionate care while adhering to hospital policies and procedures. Attendance will be monitored, with up to three absences allowed per 13-week contract.
