Plant Maintenance Technician, Speedway

Job Summary: The Plant Maintenance Technician plans, directs and coordinates work activities and resources necessary for concrete plant maintenance. Responsibilities Ensures plants run efficiently and effectively Diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs plant equipment, electrical systems and equipment controls to meet production schedules Prepares and schedules winter repairs and preventive maintenance (PMs) Performs maintenance to reduce impact on production Communicates effectively with plant managers, operators, dispatch, operations and equipment personnel Advices managers and operators of problems, potential problems or schedule difficulties Facilitates collaboration among plant personnel Promotes and maintains a safe work environment Exhibits safe work behaviors; evaluates work area for hazards; eliminates or controls hazards Wears all prescribed PPE Participates in daily safety huddles and safety training; follows safe work plans Reads and understands hazard signs, training materials, work plans, instruction manuals Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including continuous development in alignment with the company's core values, competencies, and skills Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Minimum 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or related field Experience in concrete plant maintenance preferred Experience in fabrication, plumbing and/or welding preferred Valid driver's license that meets company driver requirements Working Conditions & Physical Demands Exposure to extreme conditions at concrete plants, including heights, moving vehicles, moving equipment, live wires, exposed wires Outdoor conditions including inclement weather, precipitation, heat, humidity, dust, concrete, dirt Indoor office conditions including regular exposure to office equipment such as computers, copiers, mail machines, telephones Lifts, pushes, pulls, pours or carries heavy objects, loads of material, tools and repair parts Walks and stands for long periods of time; bends, stoops, squats, reaches to move materials and perform repairs Climbs in, out and under equipment; lays or stands under equipment Uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue Uses good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination, ability to quickly move arms and legs Possesses excellent stamina to work 8-12 hours per day Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to a drug-free workplace and union substance abuse testing requirements Employment Details Full-time position, minimum 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during business operating hours. During peak construction season, extended, evening, overnight, shift and weekend hours may be required.
