Payroll Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $75,000 to $80,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

• Set up new hires in payroll systems, including E-Verify and ADP.
• Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in 401K contributions and health benefits.
• Prepare payroll for 200 employees across multiple states.
• Run and review daily time entry reports to identify and correct errors.
• Assist with accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and month-end financial tasks as needed.

• Possess experience processing payroll for multi-state employees, preferably in California and Washington.
• Demonstrate proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP and familiarity with E-Verify.
• Have knowledge of payroll tax regulations, benefits administration, and compliance with state and federal labor laws.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• Be capable of handling payroll audits, EDD benefit audits, and general ledger reconciliation tasks.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 3+ years of payroll accounting experience in a multi-state environment.
• Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software for payroll reporting and reconciliation.
• Possess strong problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure compliance.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills to assist with employee timecard training and payroll-related inquiries.
