Property Accountant

Century Group is in search of an experienced Property Accountant to join a team in Walnut Creek. Qualified candidates with 3+ years of Accounting experience in Property Management/Real Estate utilizing Yardi software are encouraged to apply. Local candidates only. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $33 to $43 per hour.

Job Description:

• Support and collaborate with internal departments such as, Operations, Property Management, Finance, Corporate, Development, etc. on a regular basis.
• Analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of coding and cost allocation.
• Responsible for the financial reporting, including various variance analysis of assigned property's financial results within assigned portfolio.
• Use Yardi software to ensure accurate and timely recording of property-related financial transactions
• Review Property's Accounts Payable.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and annual; reconciliations, analysis, budgeting, invoices, variances, financial statements and etc.
• Perform government and investor reporting.
• Responsible for review of lease assets to ensure depreciation/amortization. • Assist in post-closing proration adjustments
• Assist on all special projects, as needed.
• Support annual financial audit

Requirements:

• Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college required
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 2 years of related experience strongly preferred.
• Previous Accounting experience in a real estate environment a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written, verbal and organizational skills. Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 platform and prior experience with accounting systems and processes.
• Experience with Yardi
• Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
