Job Title: Junior Estimator

Location: Farmingdale, NY

Salary: $90K-$110K + Benefits

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable civil contractor specializing in paving and infrastructure projects across Long Island. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, our client is looking to appoint a Junior Estimator to join their expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop a career within civil construction estimating. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced estimators and project teams, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of paving and sitework projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of cost estimates and bid submissions for paving and civil construction projects
• Review plans, specifications, and tender documentation
• Complete quantity take-offs and assist with pricing exercises
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Maintain bid records and estimating databases
• Liaise with project managers, vendors, and internal teams
• Support pre-construction and tender activities from initial enquiry through submission

Requirements:

• Previous construction, internship, or estimating experience beneficial but not essential
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Knowledge of estimating software is advantageous
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Motivated individual eager to learn and build a long-term career
