Campus Aide
The Campus Aide provides supervision and direction to students across various areas of the school campus and maintains classroom continuity to ensure that students continue to learn in their teacher's absence. This role serves as a perfect entry point into the school environment, offering valuable hands-on experience working across diverse areas of the school building and providing a strong foundation for individuals looking to further their profession through future promotional opportunities. This position is essential to promoting a safe, orderly environment for students and staff during both classroom and non-classroom activities. - High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children or within an educational/community setting is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is preferred.

- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and respond effectively to questions from students, staff, parents, and community members; ability to maintain positive, collaborative working relationships.
- Sound reasoning and analytical skills to evaluate information, define problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and recommend appropriate courses of action.
- Ability to use professional literature, evidence-based research, and ongoing professional learning to inform practice decisions; experience evaluating student skills and writing clear, concise reports; ability to implement lessons aligned with district and school goals.
- Ability to use data effectively to inform instructional decisions and improve student outcomes; proficiency in instructional technology and educational software, including Google Workspace for Education.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities to support student programming.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work effectively and equitably with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to performing all duties in compliance with district requirements, state and federal laws, and Framingham Public Schools policies; ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and student records.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance to ensure consistent department operations; react professionally and objectively to unpredictable situations, such as behavioral issues, while maintaining a proactive, solution-focused approach.

I. Instruction Time & Classroom Continuity
- Implements daily substitute lesson plans in the teacher's absence to ensure continuous learning.
- Creates a classroom environment that is safe, conducive to learning, and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for all lessons and units.
- Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated learning objectives.
- Enforces rules of classroom behavior and procedure, maintains order, and assists the administration in implementing school policies governing student life.
- Works with small groups to support their learning and responds to student questions with support and guidance.
- Remains calm, efficient, positive, and addresses immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with district procedures.
II. Non-Instruction Time & Supervision
- Supervises students during lunchtime, circulates throughout the cafeteria, and maintains a positive, safe atmosphere.
- Helps students by opening packages/milk cartons, cleaning up spills, and assisting students through the cafeteria line in an orderly fashion.
- Adheres to routines outlined in the school's Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) plan as it pertains to the cafeteria.
- Directs student movement to and from the cafeteria, classrooms, hallways, and bathrooms in a safe, organized manner.
- Assists with student arrival and dismissal procedures, including providing coverage for ELT programming.
- Reports disciplinary, safety, sanitary, or fire concerns promptly to the building administrator and/or classroom teacher.
- Professionally represents the school and district in all interactions with parents, community, staff, and students.
III. Safety & Security Operations
- Monitors video surveillance systems daily; reports malfunctions and provides recommendations for enhancements or needs.
- Performs daily building security checks and reports any breaches to Building Administration.
- Assists in lockdown drills, emergency evacuations, and other building security procedures.
- Provides interior and exterior building supervision across common areas, hallways, parking lots, and athletic fields.
- Assists Administrators as needed with locker searches, student restraints, student supervision, and investigations.
- Monitors in-house suspension, after-school suspension, and other designated student supervision assignments.
- Investigates reports of theft, vandalism, or security breaches as assigned by the Administration, and attends extracurricular activities (dances, proms, etc.) as needed.

- Must move about and traverse throughout the school building and grounds; requires the ability to navigate effectively throughout classrooms, cafeterias, and playgrounds for supervision and instruction.
- Often remains in a stationary position for considerable periods of time for instructional delivery, administrative tasks, and meetings.
- Must be able to see and hear continuously to ensure student safety, monitor classroom operations, and provide instruction in active school environments.
- Must communicate effectively and clearly with students, parents, and district personnel in person, via email, and on the telephone or video conference.
- Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel. Must be able to operate a computer, input data, and utilize instructional technology and office productivity machinery continuously throughout the day.
- Ability to lift, move, and position classroom materials and equipment (up to 30 lbs) such as books, supplies, and bulk student devices.
- Must be able to adapt to dynamic, higher-noise school environments during classroom instruction, recess, and observations.
- Must interact routinely with diverse stakeholders, meet multiple high-level demands simultaneously, and maintain focus on student needs amid frequent interruptions.
