Sr Office Assistant - Women's Diagnostic Center - Full-Time - Days

Job Description:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- PURPOSE OF JOB:
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answers incoming telephone calls. Completes appointment reminder calls as needed.
- Registers all patients into hospital computer system. Utilizes cost estimator tool to determine patient's copay/co-insurance financial responsibility. Collects co-pay/co-insurance at time of service. Responsible for retrieving referrals and prior authorizations and documenting in the account.
- Knowledge of clerical procedures for processing and releasing patient records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School and or commercial school graduate.
- Experience: Prior receptionist, registration or scheduler in medical field.
- Other Skills: Good communication skills. Proficient computer skills. Ability to work under pressure. Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Ability to work well with patients and meet their needs.
