Job Description

As a Sample Coordinator, you will support the laboratory by handling samples and standards, following established protocols with minimal supervision. Your role is crucial in maintaining the accuracy and quality that our laboratory professionals are known for, as you enforce sample handling procedures and contribute to the laboratory's success.

Responsibilities

• Perform various tasks related to sample and standard management, including receipt, check-in, login, labeling, launching, inventory, transport, check-out, and material disposal.

• Communicate sample and standard statuses to laboratory staff.

• Guide and advise laboratory staff on sample and standard procedures.

• Complete investigation and deviation forms, determining appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

• Review and provide feedback on laboratory requests, ensuring compliance with applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Train on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements, respond to environmental unit alarms, and participate in on-call responsibilities.

• Perform assignments accurately, timely, and safely.

Essential Skills

• High/Secondary school diploma or equivalent with relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.

• Previous experience comparable to at least 2 years in a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Basic knowledge of inventory flow and control.

• Understanding of laboratory and regulatory requirements, including documentation and sample storage.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Effective time management and project management skills.

• Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with laboratory processes.

• Ability to write and review SOPs and process improvement outlines.

• Experience with sample preparation, data entry, and sample management.

Work Environment

The role is performed in a regulated environment with potential exposure to biological fluids and infectious organisms. It may require working in sub-frozen environments and shift work. The ability to prioritize assignments and work within potentially stressful deadlines is essential. Position is categorized under CRG Contingent - United States.

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.16 - $20.16/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
