Respiratory Therapist, Registered RRT

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist, Registered (RRT) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in our acute care facility in Clyde, North Carolina. In this role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across a variety of clinical settings, including emergency, critical care, medical-surgical, and post-operative areas. Working as an integral member of a collaborative, patient-centered team, you will assess, plan, and deliver respiratory therapies that support optimal pulmonary function and overall patient well-being.
The Respiratory Therapist, RRT will perform thorough respiratory assessments; initiate, monitor, and adjust oxygen therapy; and manage both invasive and non-invasive ventilators in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols. You will administer aerosolized medications, perform airway clearance techniques, and obtain and analyze arterial blood gases to guide treatment decisions. You will support and prepare patients for diagnostic procedures such as pulmonary function testing and perform bedside testing as needed.
As part of our commitment to safe, high-quality care, you will document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic medical record. You will participate in rapid response and code blue situations, providing advanced respiratory support and working closely with physicians and nursing staff during medical emergencies. Education is a key component of this role; you will provide clear, compassionate instruction to patients and families on respiratory equipment, inhaler use, breathing techniques, and disease management to promote understanding and long-term health.
