Responsibilities

Qualifications / Skills

• Strong foundation in science, excellent manual dexterity, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to diagnose and treat a range of dental conditions and to use a variety of tools and techniques.

Education & Licensing

• Education: Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or CODA-accredited.
• After graduation, dentists must pass national and state licensure examinations and maintain licensure through ongoing continuing education.
• Some dentists may specialize in orthodontics, periodontics, or oral and maxillofacial surgery, which require additional training and certification.

Experience Path
