Lead HVAC/R & Building Maintenance TechnicianThe William Penn Inn is a historic hospitality destination in Montgomery County known for exceptional dining, weddings, private events, and high-volume restaurant operations. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Lead HVAC/R & Building Maintenance Technician to support the daily operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of our property and equipment.This is a hands-on position for someone with strong HVAC/R experience who also has solid knowledge of general building maintenance and repair. The ideal candidate is reliable, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in maintaining a busy, fast-paced hospitality property.Position SummaryThe Lead HVAC/R & Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the Inn's HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen, and building systems. This role focuses heavily on HVAC/R and mechanical systems while also supporting general facility maintenance needs throughout the property.The right candidate will be experienced in diagnosing issues, responding quickly to operational needs, and performing preventative maintenance to keep the facility running safely and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systemsPerform preventative maintenance on HVAC/R equipment, coolers, freezers, and mechanical systemsDiagnose and repair general building maintenance issues including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and minor mechanical repairsMaintain and repair commercial kitchen equipment and dish machinesRespond promptly to maintenance requests throughout restaurant, banquet, kitchen, and guest areasMonitor building systems and identify potential maintenance or safety concernsAssist with seasonal property maintenance including exterior upkeep and snow removal coordinationSupport event operations and facility needs during weddings and large functionsMaintain organized maintenance workspaces, inventory, tools, and suppliesCoordinate with outside vendors and contractors when necessaryFollow safety procedures and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulationsPreferred ExperienceExperience in any of the following environments is strongly preferred:Hotels or hospitality propertiesRestaurants or banquet facilitiesCommercial kitchensCountry clubsHospitals or healthcare facilitiesLarge commercial buildingsRequirements5+ years of HVAC/R and building maintenance experience preferredHVAC Certification strongly preferredExperience working with commercial refrigeration systems and kitchen equipmentWorking knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building repairStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work including climbing, bending, standing, and working outdoorsReliable transportation and strong attendance recordAbility to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call coverageProfessional attitude and ability to work well with multiple departmentsBenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid vacation and holidaysEmployee mealsStable, year-round employmentWhy Join UsWork at one of the area's most respected historic hospitality propertiesJoin a long-standing team focused on quality and professionalismConsistent full-time work in a stable and well-established environmentThe William Penn Inn is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to creating an inclusive workplace for all employees.
