AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC, ASSISTANT (CLASS CODE 1932)

Job Title

Performs and/or assists in performing minor mechanical repairs and adjustments on a variety of gasoline and diesel automobiles, and other mechanical equipment; assist in diagnosing mechanical difficulties in automotive equipment; repair and replace tires and perform a variety of other tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility; and related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency Diploma.*

A valid driver's license.*

EITHER: Two (2) years of full time experience in automotive repair and/or maintenance.

OR: An Associate's degree or a two year technical certification in automotive repair.*

NOTE: Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements may be interchangeable on a year of year basis.
