Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department, including triage, treatment, and discharge procedures for a diverse patient population. The role involves responding to urgent medical situations and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate triage assessments and communicate abnormal signs or symptoms to the Emergency MD promptly.
• Review, prioritize, and complete patient orders efficiently to ensure timely care.
• Educate patients and families on medication side effects and discharge instructions.
• Recognize symptoms of cardiac, respiratory distress, and other emergencies, initiating appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and maintain indwelling devices following safety protocols.
• Respond effectively during Code Blue, Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma activations, managing critical situations with competence.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the practicing state.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in an emergency or acute care setting.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved provider.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Ability to interpret ECG rhythms and manage life-threatening emergencies.
