Senior Accountant
Location: Irving, TX | Onsite
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE- Pay: $32.07 to $34.36 per hour
- Schedule: Monday through Friday | 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Assignment Length: August 17, 2026 through November 7, 2026
- Employment Type: W2 Contract
Our client is a large organization within the healthcare industry seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support its corporate accounting team. This position is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, analyzing financial data, and supporting the month-end close process while ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare and post month-end general ledger journal entries.
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze financial variances and provide explanations for significant fluctuations.
- Support assigned accounting functions, including cash, fixed assets, payroll, inventory, leases, intercompany transactions, grants, or other corporate accounting activities.
- Review accounting transactions for accuracy and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
- Ensure journal entries are properly classified and accurately reflected in financial statements.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
- Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for external audits.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support timely financial reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent required (proof of education required with submission).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Experience preparing journal entries and performing general ledger account reconciliations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- General Ledger accounting experience preferred.
- Healthcare accounting experience preferred.
- Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting in a large or multi-entity organization preferred.
- Good job stability (a minimum of 1 year at all previous roles).
- Must live within a 30 mile radius of Irving, TX.
