Responsibilities Perform all duties in a safe manor Perform analytical testing in a Biological Safety Level 2 lab Identify and characterize the key microorganisms responsible for cellulose ester biodegradation in relevant test systems. Collaborate to develop and refine internal test methods (BioFUN) to improve reproducibility, relevance, and alignment with external certification protocols. Effectively organize and communicate experimental results Document work in a lab notebook Draft technical reports summarizing research as appropriate Qualifications Minimum of Associates Degree / Technical Diploma in a Scientific Field. AND completed the following mandatory chemistry/scientific courses: General Chemistry I & Lab General Chemistry II & Lab Organic Chemistry I & Lab Organic Chemistry II & Lab Quantitative Analysis – this course can be completed on site. Degree in Microbiology and analytical labs strongly preferred Experience working in a Biological Safety level 2 laboratory strongly preferred Formal training in general laboratory procedures. Problem solving, math and science skills and familiarity with statistical methodology. Initiative and the ability to work in a team setting. Clear and effective written and oral communication is essential. General computer experience with relevant and Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
