Job Title: Production Associate

Job Description

This role supports a plastic manufacturing facility by handling, preparing, and inspecting parts and products throughout the production process. The Production Associate works on a rotating shift schedule, focusing on safe material handling, accurate measurements, and consistent quality to ensure products are ready for cutting, finishing, and shipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts and products onto pallets in a safe and organized manner.

• Prepare parts and products for cutting by measuring materials to appropriate specifications using a tape measure.

• Stage and prepare parts and products to be shipped for powder coating according to production requirements.

• Follow established quality standards and processes throughout the facility to ensure consistent product quality.

• Inspect parts and products for defects or inconsistencies and report issues promptly.

• Support general production activities, including packaging, packing, and working on the production line as needed.

• Operate basic production and material handling equipment as assigned, following all safety procedures.

• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in compliance with facility standards.

• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure production deadlines and goals are met.

• Adapt to different tasks within general labor, production, and packaging based on daily operational needs.

Essential Skills

• Experience in production, general labor, or general production work.

• Ability to perform packaging, packing, and inspection tasks accurately and efficiently.

• Capability to load and unload materials safely, including working with pallets and production lines.

• Basic machine operating experience or willingness to learn machine operation.

• Proficiency using a tape measure to take accurate measurements.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Ability to follow established quality standards and production processes.

• Reliability in meeting production goals and adhering to schedules.

• Strong focus on safety and adherence to facility rules and procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience is a plus.

• Experience in plastic manufacturing or similar industrial environments is beneficial.

• Willingness to cross-train into roles such as machine operator, forklift operator, or lead position.

• Ability to learn and adapt to different production lines and business units.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills to support collaborative production goals.

Work Environment

This role is based in a plastic manufacturing facility that operates on a 4x4 rotating schedule. The primary shift is a third shift from 5:45 p.m. to 6:16 a.m., with orientations typically scheduled on Monday afternoons. New hires begin with a training schedule on dayshift from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. for approximately two weeks before transitioning to the 4x4 rotating schedule. The facility is not temperature controlled, and work takes place in an industrial environment with typical plastic manufacturing conditions. The operation includes multiple buildings within a few miles of each other, each supporting different business units, and employees may work in either location depending on business needs. The work environment emphasizes safety, consistent processes, and steady production rather than a particularly fast pace, and tasks do not require heavy lifting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scranton, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
