Contract (13 Weeks) | 3x12-Hour Days | 07:00–19:30 | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed medical-surgical telemetry unit with an average daily census of 18 patients across 24 beds at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage adult and geriatric patients presenting with diagnoses including TIA, COPD and other respiratory conditions, urology, gynecology, cellulitis and wound care, palliative care, infectious processes, gastrointestinal conditions, and early post-surgical recovery
• Monitor and care for observation patients exceeding 24 hours and patients with TR bands status post cardiac catheterization with no intervention
• Participate in holiday and every-other-weekend scheduling as assigned
• Float within specialty, to other units, and to sister facilities within scope of practice as needed; travelers are expected to float first

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
• BLS certification – American Heart Association only
• CPI certification required for compliance; the Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
• Must have a permanent address 50 or more miles from the facility to be eligible; locals under 50 miles are not accepted unless explicitly stated otherwise
• Must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions or special requests
• Compliance documentation must be completed 5 days prior to start date; lab work must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric populations with complex, multi-system diagnoses
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and post-cardiac catheterization patient management
