The Opportunity
We are partnering with organizations in Charlotte that are seeking Shipping & Receiving Clerks. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, inspect, and log incoming raw materials and components, verifying against purchase orders.
- Prepare and package finished goods for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for various carriers.
- Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain organized inventory of received materials and finished goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Process shipping and receiving paperwork, including bills of lading, packing slips, and internal transfer documents.
- Coordinate with production and procurement teams to ensure timely material flow and shipment readiness.
- Perform regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory to maintain accurate stock records.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years experience in shipping/receiving within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Strong computer skills, including experience with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physically demanding tasks
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience operating an ERP system for inventory management
- Certification in forklift operation or other material handling equipment
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen)
- Proficiency in using barcode scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS)
