Are you passionate about helping patients gain access to life-changing specialty medications? Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Patient Access Specialis t to support patients, providers, and pharmacy teams throughout the specialty medication journey.

Position Details

Location: Cary, NC

Pay Rate: $ 22.50/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday (Shift TBD)

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

As a Patient Access Specialist, you'll play a critical role in helping patients navigate insurance approvals, financial assistance programs, and access to specialty and biologic therapies.

You'll be the bridge between patients, providers, insurance companies, and specialty pharmacies to ensure treatment starts as quickly and smoothly as possible.

What You'll Be Doing

Conduct insurance benefit investigations and coverage verification

Review eligibility, co-pays, deductibles, and specialty pharmacy requirements

Support prior authorizations, reauthorizations, and appeals

Track authorization statuses and provide timely updates

Assist patients with co-pay assistance programs, foundation grants, and manufacturer-sponsored programs

Educate patients on treatment onboarding and coverage processes

Coordinate with provider offices and specialty pharmacies

Maintain accurate documentation and HIPAA-compliant records

Meet productivity, quality, and turnaround-time goals

Deliver exceptional customer service through inbound and outbound patient communications

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Experience with benefits verification, prior authorizations, specialty pharmacy, healthcare administration, medical insurance, or patient access is highly preferred

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards preferred

Experience documenting in CareTend, AssistPoint, or related systems is a plus
