Preventive Maintenance Tech

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Canopy, Commerce City, CO

Shift & Schedule: Swing Shift

W hat You’ll Be Doing:

Perform routine maintenance of shuttles and buses (gas-powered).

• Conduct light diagnostics of shuttle issues that arise.
• Handle tire repairs and tire changes.
• Complete oil changes, brake replacements, and general servicing.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
• Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs.
• Conduct body work and other general fleet mechanic duties.
• Diagnose, inspect, and overhaul transit vehicles in a timely and professional manner.

Must Haves:

• 2+ years of automotive service (Required).
• 2+ years of automotive repair (Required).
• Must have a clean driving history.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays (maintenance shop is open 24/7).
• Dependable, self-motivated, and strong communication skills.

• Ability to work independently in a structured environment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
• Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs, bending, squatting, or kneeling as needed.
• Safety-focused and able to recognize potential mechanical defects
• Professional and courteous communication skills.

• Physical Demands: The employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands-to-fingers, handle tools or controls, reach with hands or arms, talk, and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25lbs.

Work Environment: The employee may be subjected to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes and airborne particles. The noise level in this work environment can range from minimal to moderate.

The employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands-to-fingers, handle tools or controls, reach with hands or arms, talk, and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25lbs.
