Stepping Stones Personal Care Services in Carson, CA is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Life Skills Mentor to join our team. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals by guiding them toward greater independence and confidence. - Provide one-on-one mentoring and coaching to individuals in developing essential daily living skills
- Assist the individual with personal care tasks, household management, and community integration
- Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to each client's goals
- Monitor and document the individuals' progress, behaviors, and milestones accurately
- Teach budgeting, meal planning, communication, and other practical life skills
- Accompany clients to appointments, community activities, and social engagements
- Collaborate with care teams, families, and supervisors to ensure consistent, quality support
- Prior experience in direct care, social services, or a related human services field preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic approach
- Ability to work independently and adapt to the unique needs of each client
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in social work or related field a plus
- Commitment to maintaining client dignity, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
