Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Physical Therapist, playing a pivotal role in supporting the Infant and Toddler Program in the Leonardtown, MD area. This 11-month contract position starts as soon as possible and extends through July 1, 2027, offering the flexibility and autonomy you need to make a meaningful impact in a school-based environment.
As an itinerant Physical Therapist, you'll travel between locations—receiving mileage reimbursement—and work with infants and toddlers, fostering development and mobility. Enjoy a full-time, 35-hour schedule with flexible hours designed to help you maintain work-life balance while meeting the needs of your caseload.
Qualifications:
- Active Physical Therapist license in the state of Maryland (required)
- School-based or pediatric experience is highly valued
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to varied educational settings
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for itinerant travel
Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy services to infants and toddlers as part of an interdisciplinary education team
- Assess motor development, create treatment plans, and implement appropriate interventions
- Travel between locations as required, supporting multiple sites within the program
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and educators to promote progress in natural environments
- Document evaluations, progress, and outcomes in accordance with state and program guidelines
