Location: San Francisco, CA (100% Remote) Length of Assignment: (6 months+) Sector: IT

The Senior Microsoft BI Consultant will be responsible for development, rollout and support of client-facing business intelligence solutions. In this role, you will leverage Microsoft BI components to implement bespoke combinations of dimensional data models, semantic data models, integrations, visualizations, security and governance. You will also work closely with the client to gather business requirements, craft logical architectures and document solutions.

Job Summary:

• 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence reporting using the Microsoft Stack, including:
• Skilled in using SQL for accessing and manipulating database systems such as writing complex queries, joins, stored procedures, user-defined functions, views, and indexes using SQL and PSQL programming.
• Power BI Desktop:
• Designing complex data models and datasets and data flows and data marts.
• Using the Query Editor to source, combine, and transform data from many different sources.
• Expert knowledge of DAX, including time intelligence.
• Developing advanced reports and visualizations.
• Managing the Power BI service:
• Understanding of latest features, including gateways, Data Hubs and Composite models.
• Identify and implement optimal methods of collaborating and sharing across the business.

• Proficiency in Data Modeling and Dimensional Analysis.
• Skilled at developing source to target mapping.
• Effective liaison among Business Analysts, Developers, Quality Assurance, Systems Support and Customers/Users with a reputation for timely resolution of issues and a drive for business results.
• Work with business users to gather in-depth business requirements and keep track of changes in their requirements.
• Experience in communicating with stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and end-users to better understand, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements.
• Functional Domain experience in banking, healthcare, finance, and process manufacturing.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in groups as well as individually with minimum supervision.
• Ability to adapt to fast changing skills and work.
• Willing to learn new technologies as and when needed.
