MOCSA Violence Prevention Community Engagement Specialist The Unified Government of Wyandotte County AmeriCorps VISTA Program strengthens local capacity to expand violence prevention efforts and improve access to resources for low-income and underserved residents. This position supports MOCSA (Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault) by developing sustainable systems for community engagement and partnership development. The VISTA member will support the development of outreach systems that strengthen MOCSA's presence across the Kansas City metro area. This includes identifying engagement opportunities, creating tools to track partnerships, and developing processes that support consistent outreach and relationship building. The member will also assist in expanding partnerships with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to increase participation in prevention initiatives and coalition efforts. In addition, the VISTA will help build capacity for training partnerships by identifying organizations interested in hosting or participating in prevention education programs. The member will develop systems to track outreach, partner engagement, and training opportunities to ensure long-term sustainability. By strengthening systems for community engagement and partnership development, this project will increase awareness of prevention education and improve access to resources. These efforts will help support safer communities and improve access to services that contribute to stability for residents experiencing poverty. Member Duties The AmeriCorps VISTA member will develop and support systems for community engagement and partnership development. The member will identify outreach opportunities and create tools to track partnerships, engagement efforts, and training opportunities. They will assist in building relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to increase participation in prevention initiatives. The VISTA will also support development of systems that expand training partnerships by identifying organizations interested in hosting prevention education programs. These efforts will strengthen outreach processes and increase access to prevention resources for underserved residents.
