Community Wellness AdvocateWho We AreLawrence Hall is a Chicago-based nonprofit social services agency providing therapeutic, wellness, and skill-development services to youth, families, and communities affected by trauma.Our Community Wellness program helps young people affected by community violence and systemic barriers build stability, develop healthy coping skills, and access opportunities for long-term success. About the RoleAs a Community Wellness Advocate, you will mentor and support at-risk and justice-involved youth and young adults ages 8–24. Using trauma-informed and positive youth development approaches, you will help participants set goals, access resources, develop life skills, and build healthier futures.This is a great opportunity for someone who connects naturally with young people, understands Chicago communities, and is passionate about helping youth thrive. What You'll DoMentor youth ages 8–24, build trusted relationships, and provide case management, goal planning, referrals, and follow-up support.Help participants strengthen their life skills, emotional wellness, education, and employment readiness through individual and group activities.Connect youth and families to community resources, collaborate with partner organizations, maintain required documentation, and transport participants when needed. Who We're Looking ForRequired:Bachelor 's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Youth Development, or a related field.At least two years of experience working with youth or young adults ages 8–24.Experience supporting at-risk, justice-involved, or underserved communities.Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to transport youth.Ability to pass all required background checks and screenings.Preferred:Knowledge of trauma-informed care, Positive Youth Development, restorative practices, and crisis intervention.Knowledge of Chicago community resources and violence-prevention programming. Additional InformationThis is a full-time, onsite position based at Lawrence Hall's South Shore Campus, located at 1818 E. 71st Street, Chicago, IL 60649. The position includes community-based work and travel to schools, homes, program sites, and partner organizations throughout Chicago.
