Hardware Technician
Location: Framingham
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay: $20.00-$22.00/hour
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Hardware Technician to support their Hardware Engineering team with cable assembly, wiring harness fabrication, and hardware troubleshooting. This is a hands-on role involving the building and testing of cable assemblies used in GPS and tablet hardware systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Hardware Engineering team with cable assembly and troubleshooting
- Perform wire crimping, soldering, stripping, and cutting
- Build custom wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly instructions
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with cable assemblies and wiring harnesses
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Properly manage tools, equipment, and materials
- Work with engineering staff to identify process improvements and resolve production issues
- Document assembly processes and maintain accurate production records
- Support additional hardware-related tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience with wire crimping, soldering, stripping, and cutting preferred
- Previous experience in cable assembly, wiring harness fabrication, electronics, or a related field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical schematics
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:
- Primarily hands-on bench work in a hardware/production environment
- May require sitting or standing for extended periods
- Requires frequent use of hand tools and small components
