Configuration Technician - L4 - 2nd Shift - NAIC2 Job ID: 26-1837 Job Overview The Configuration Technician I role performs production-level logical configurations and testing. Following detailed work instructions from the Engineering team, this role accomplishes tasks and collaborates cross-functionally within the Supply Chain organization. The position reports directly to the Production Supervisor. Job Responsibilities Configuration and testing of vendor networking, wireless, telecom, and collaboration devices. Configuration and testing of core network storage and server technologies or general telecom products based on program needs. Apply technical knowledge of products to ensure proper functionality and operation. Assist in optimizing work instructions and documentation. Support basic troubleshooting for defective devices, logical issues, or systematic errors across a wide range of technologies. Load operating systems, licenses, and update firmware per customer requirements. Configure, upgrade, and test networking and telecom equipment including routers, switches, servers, wireless, voice, video, and radio access network items. Use established tools to communicate task status continuously. Capture quality control records and perform QC checks to validate logical configuration requirements. Complete physical audits of equipment and accessories. Ensure accurate capture of installation and configuration information across various hardware platforms. Provide input for continuous improvement of customer production solutions. Education Qualifications Associate's Degree in Information Technology preferred. Work Experience Minimum of 2 years progressive experience in a related field. Other Work Experience 1‑2 years hands‑on experience with router/switch, wireless, voice, security, and SAN solutions. Use technical knowledge of products to meet customer needs and understand market trends. Maintain a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in information logging. Execute directives independently and read engineering drawings (network designs, rack elevations). Know testing hardware and software platforms, cable types, and best practices. Work independently and collaboratively in a high‑pressure environment. Prioritize tasks amid shifting priorities and deadlines. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. Meet any customer‑specific onboarding requirements, including background checks and drug testing. Licenses and Certifications CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Technician preferred. Salary Estimated base salary range: $19.42 – $24.28 per hour, varying by shift, location, experience, and other factors.
